Just a reminder for those who live in places that observe Daylight Savings Time. It happens tonight! So set your clocks ahead 1 hour.
This brings to mind a memory of a deployment to Yuma, AZ for W.T.I. The local bars closed at 0200. When the bars closed, everyone would make the short drive across the California border, where it was one hour earlier, and hangout at a little dive called RED's (where people use the urinals and put their boogers on the wall).
While we were there, Daylight Savings Time kicked in. Well, Arizona does not adhere to DST (because no one there wants to stay up to 2:00 am to change their clocks) so when this happened, we could no longer leave the club in Yuma (called JOHNNYs) and go to REDs in CA and continue our festivities (***note for the MATH Impaired*** it was now 2:00 am in CA too).
So the Marines of MATCS-48 had to suffer because the people of AZ are too tired to wake up and change their clocks. (But I appreciated the extra sleep!)
