The Ballad of the Marines on GCA

Ballad of the G.C.A.
(my apologies to the Ballad of the Green Berets)
Disgruntled jarheads who watch the sky,
Coffee cups by their side.
Men who are taught just what to say,
The Marines on G.C.A.
Headset cords clipped to their chest,
A deck of cards upon the desk.
One hundred planes we'll land today,
Thanks to the Marines on G.C.A.
Trained to help pilots to land,
Here at home and foreign lands.
We can't tell night from day,
Because we're stuck on G.C.A.
We have no wings upon our chest,
If we mess up we'll call the techs.
Erase those tapes before the F.A.A.,
Arrest the Marines on G.C.A.
Back at home a party waits,
We'll miss the beer if we work late.
I hear last call at the bar,
All the flights now are V.F.R.
Put pilots wings on my son's chest,
Let him Fly for American West.
May he never have to say,
I had to work Marine G.C.A.

Here is the REAL SONG for those who are unfamiliar with it.

Ballad of the Green Berets
Fighting soldiers from the sky,
Fearless men who jump and die.
Men who mean just what they say,
The brave men of The Green Beret.
Silver wings upon their chests,
These are men, America's best,
One hundred men we'll test today,
But only three win The Green Beret.
Trained to live off nature's land,
Trained in combat, hand to hand.
Men who fight by night and day,
Courage take from The Green Beret.
Silver wings upon their chests,
These are men, America's best,
One hundred men we'll test today,
But only three win The Green Beret.
Back at home a young wife waits,
Her Green Beret has met his fate.
He has died for those oppressed.
Leaving her this last request.
Put silver wings on my son's chest,
Make him one of America's best,
He'll be a man they'll test one day,
Have him win The Green Beret.
