Marine Guard Instructions
by: J.J. Dargan

This was sent by another "Old Marine" up at HQMC. Enjoy!
In the 20s train robbers were raising hell with our trains. What to do? Call in the Marines to guard the trains.
The Marine guards instructions were, "In the event of an attempted robbery, three conditions will exist;
a dead or wounded robber
a dead Marine, or a Marine so wounded he cannot hold his weapon
or a general courts-martial".
Needless to say the U. S. mail traveled securely. Don't you just love the way the instructions/orders were so clear in those days past.
